Men’s Mental Health
At Mountain Path Psychology, one of my specialties is men’s mental health. I provide a space where men can step out of the daily grind and speak openly about what’s really going on. Men face unique societal pressures, stressors, and emotional expectations that are often left unaddressed. Whether you or a loved one are dealing with chronic stress, burnout, relationship conflict, anxiety, depression, anger, ADHD, trauma, or navigating a major life transition, you don’t have to carry that weight in isolation.
My approach to men’s health is collaborative, practical, and free of judgment. We will work together to break down the barriers holding you back and build real-world strategies to help you regain control, get back in the “driver’s seat,” and find balance.
A Practical, Down-to-Earth Approach
Therapy doesn't have to be mysterious or overly abstract. I use an Integrated Therapy focus consisting of evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Gottman Methods to tailor fit to what works best for you and your goals. We look at where you are today, figure out where you want to be, and chart a clear, actionable path to get you there.
First Session
The first half of the first session is focussed on discussing your background and history with a goal of getting to know all about you and what brings you to counselling. The more information I have, the better we can tailor fit counselling. The rest of the first session shifts focus from what we know, to discussing what we want to see change/improve.
Sessions afterwards will focus on the agreed area of counselling whether that be a continuous goal, different short-term goals, or an overall checkin to see how things are going. Each session will infuse discovering not only what are the challenges currently faced with empathy and support, but also what strengths you may not have realized you bring to the challenge and are doing quite well. Sessions usually end with a next step to work on in-between sessions.
